It feels like a lifetime ago, though in reality, it’s been only a handful of years. Just ten years, to be exact. Ten years since that day in 2015 when two high school students met in a small, slightly outdated music classroom where the hum of a piano filled the air, and the sounds of a hundred dreams seemed to hang on every note. She was the kind of girl who found comfort in the simple beauty of a song or the soft rustling of leaves outside a window, while he, with his easy smile and outgoing charm, often found himself lost in his own world of conversation and laughter. But somehow, their worlds collided.

At first, they were just classmates, then they began to talk between classes, share laughs over lunch, and soon became the kind of friends who knew each other’s favourite songs and the secrets hidden in the corners of their hearts. Their connection was natural, like the melody of a song you didn’t realise you knew by heart. They were friends first, simple and uncomplicated, and that was enough. Or so they thought.

But something changed. Slowly, imperceptibly, their friendship deepened into something more. The late-night talks about dreams and fears, these moments shifted the world beneath their feet. On the 8th of August, in the early morning light just before their first class of the day, he asked her out. The moment was simple—nothing grand, no dramatic gestures, just a boy, standing in front of her locker, nervous but determined, asking if she would be his girlfriend. The world seemed to hold its breath, and then, with a smile that lit up her entire heart, she said yes.

They became best friends first, partners second, and with each new chapter, they found that life together—simple and full of laughter—was the greatest adventure they could have ever imagined. In the years that followed, their love grew in quiet, extraordinary ways. They travelled the world together—Rome’s cobblestone streets, Paris under the glow of the Eiffel Tower, the quiet sunsets of Nice—all memories woven together with the kind of love that felt both new and eternal. They built a life side by side, learning each other’s rhythm, supporting each other’s dreams, and creating a world that was uniquely theirs.

And then there was Salem. A small torbie cat—her fur a swirling mix of orange, brown, and black—a tiny creature who had come into their lives at just the right moment. She was a reminder of how perfect things had become. How, despite the messiness of life, there was always something to hold on to, always something to love.

Today, as they prepare to stand hand in hand at the altar, ready to say ‘I do’, it feels like a natural progression. This moment is just the next chapter in a love story that began in a classroom and grew into something beautiful, something rare. They’ve built this life together, and now they’re about to seal it with a promise.

On September 16th 2026 in a small town in France, they will become something more—husband and wife. But they already know, with the certainty of all the years they’ve spent together, that this is only the beginning.
